Our Coral Gables campus Access Control group is responsible for electronic online/offline access and traditional locksmith services. Our mission is to protect and secure students, faculty, staff, visitors and University assets. We approach this mission with a strong focus on excellent, timely customer interactions, and quality service. Access Control is responsible for granting electronic access, as well as the repair and maintenance of electronic mechanisms. Our group also coordinates development of locking plans, new installations, issuance/duplication of metal keys, and repair/maintenance of traditional locking mechanisms.
In addition, Access Control is responsible for ensuring compliance with policy and procedures – these can be found here.
For an access emergency please contact UMPD 305.284.6666 or Facilities Work Control at 305.284.8282.
To report non-emergency issues regarding access on the Coral Gables campus, or to place an access related request, please submit an online service request. This request will be processed in a timely fashion by our Facilities Work Control department. For information on access support for events click here.
Safety and security is the shared responsibility of all members of the University community.
Registered students are automatically granted access to libraries, UC pool, and other common areas on the Coral Gables Campus. If you encounter problems accessing any of these areas, please refer to Cane Card.
The Office of Housing and Residential Life is responsible for providing access to Resident Students. For more information please reference Housing and Residential Life.
The University has established access control policies to address the design, administration and management of access to University facilities. Right of entry privileges are granted by University administrators and the Access Control shop based on policy and customer/departmental needs.
Our online electronic access control system is supported by CSGOLD software and is maintained by University IT.
