Energy and Utility Services

Our Energy Management team oversees all Coral Gables and Rosenstiel (RSMAS) campus utility plants and is responsible for the maintenance of electrical distribution systems at the University.

Telecommunication and internet services are managed by Information Technology. For issues related to either telecommunications or interest service please contact IT at either itsupportcenter@miami.edu or via phone at 305-284-6565.

We strive to ensure proper function and maintenance of all electrical systems, chilled water plants, pump facilities and mechanisms that are required to transport these services. 

Scheduled & Unscheduled Outages

Our Facilities Management Department coordinates all planned utility outages of University buildings, including those services by outside vendors or utility companies. As part of this process, Facilities Management sends notifications in advance of every shutdown to the designated building liaisons. For up to date information on your building please contact us directly at either facilities@miami.edu or via phone at 305-284-8282.

The Facilities Management Department team responds to unscheduled outages and partners with outside vendors or utility companies to restore outages as soon as possible. As part of this process, Facilities Management sends notifications in advance of every shutdown to the designated building liaisons to disseminate accordingly.  

All outages, major electrical, or utility issues should be reported ASAP to Facilities Management:

Air Conditioning

Maintenance and repair are part of Facilities Management's responsibilities. In keeping with our service standards and commitment to sustainability, the University has a standard set point of 72 degrees (+/- 1.5 degrees).
